A Guide to the 10 Mushrooms in Mushroom+
Lion's Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps, Chaga and more. A quick introduction to each of the 10 mushrooms in our Mushroom+ complex.

Functional mushrooms are among the fastest-growing supplement searches in Australia. Our Mushroom+ combines extracts of ten different mushrooms in one capsule. Here is a short introduction to each, with the Latin name you may see on other labels.
| Mushroom | Latin name | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Lion's Mane | Hericium erinaceus | Named for its shaggy, cascading spines |
| Reishi | Ganoderma lucidum | A glossy, woody mushroom with a long history in East Asian traditions |
| Cordyceps | Cordyceps militaris / sinensis | A distinctive club-shaped fungus |
| Chaga | Inonotus obliquus | Grows on birch trees in cold climates |
| Turkey Tail | Trametes versicolor | Named for its banded, fan-shaped caps |
| Shiitake | Lentinula edodes | A familiar culinary mushroom |
| Maitake | Grifola frondosa | Also called hen of the woods |
| Oyster | Pleurotus ostreatus | A common culinary mushroom |
| White button | Agaricus bisporus | The everyday supermarket mushroom |
| Agaricus | Agaricus blazei / subrufescens | Sometimes called the almond mushroom |
Extract vs whole powder
Mushroom supplements can use whole dried mushroom powder or extracts. Extracts are concentrated from the mushroom material. When comparing products, look for whether each mushroom is listed as an extract and how much of each is present per serve.
