Calcium D-Glucarate: What It Is and How to Read the Label
Calcium D-glucarate is a lesser-known ingredient. Here is what it is, where glucarate is found, and what our label lists.

Calcium D-glucarate is one of the less familiar names in the supplement aisle. Here is a plain-English explanation of what it is and what our label shows.
What is calcium D-glucarate?
Calcium D-glucarate is the calcium salt of D-glucaric acid. Glucaric acid occurs naturally in small amounts in many fruits and vegetables, including oranges, apples, grapefruit and cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli and Brussels sprouts.
Is it a calcium supplement?
Not in the usual sense. Calcium is part of the compound, but calcium D-glucarate is sold for the glucarate component rather than as a calcium supplement. If you are looking for calcium specifically, check the elemental calcium figure on a dedicated calcium product.
