Capsules or Tablets? Format, Serving and Pack Size Explained

How to compare formats and work out how many serves are in a bottle, with simple examples from our range.

Elevate Nutra Vitamin C 1000mg tablets bottle

The Elevate Nutra range comes in two formats: capsules and tablets. Format is partly personal preference, and it also affects how a product is labelled and how long a bottle lasts.

Capsules

A capsule is a shell, often plant or gelatine based, filled with the ingredients. Many people find capsules easy to swallow. Most of our formulas, including Magnesium Glycinate and the plus range, are capsules.

Tablets

A tablet is pressed into shape. Tablets can hold larger amounts in a single unit, which is why higher-strength products such as Vitamin C 1000 mg, L-Arginine 1000 mg and L-Citrulline 2500 mg are tablets.

Working out serves per bottle

Divide the number in the bottle by the serving size on the panel:

Pack Serving size Serves per bottle
60 capsules 1 capsule 60
120 capsules 2 capsules 60
90 capsules 3 capsules 30

These are examples only. Always use the serving size printed on the panel of the product you are looking at.

Comparing value

To compare two products fairly, divide the price by the number of serves, not the number of capsules or tablets.
